Two armoured fighters crossing swords in a forest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

KCD2 MULTIPLAYER · LIVE NOW

Play Kingdom Come: Deliverance II multiplayer.

Kingdoms Connected is the free multiplayer mod for KCD2. Join your friends in Bohemia, share the same world on a dedicated server, and play the game modes your community builds.

Does KCD2 have multiplayer?

Not officially. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, developed by Warhorse Studios, is a single-player role-playing game, and there is no built-in co-op or online mode. Kingdoms Connected (KCDC) is an independent, community-made mod that adds online multiplayer to KCD2 (often shortened to KCD2 MP): other players appear in your game, in the game’s own world, and you play together on a server.

It is free, it does not modify your game files, and it is live today. Builds are shared on the Kingdoms Connected Discord.

What the KCD2 multiplayer mod adds

  • A shared world

Everyone on the server rides, fights and explores the same Bohemia, with the same clock and weather.

  • Up to 512 players

Each server holds up to 512 players at once: a party of friends, a bustling roleplay town or a whole warring kingdom.

  • Dedicated servers

Servers run on Windows or Linux, at home or on a rented machine, in Docker or on a Pterodactyl panel.

  • Server browser

Find public servers in the in-game browser, or connect directly to a friend’s address.

  • Proximity voice and chat

Hear the players standing near you, and use text chat for everything else.

  • Custom game modes

Server owners script quests, dialogue, shops, NPCs, horses and interfaces in JavaScript or TypeScript.

Servers can load either of the game’s regions, Kuttenberg and its countryside or Trosky, and can require DLCs such as Legacy of the Forge or Mysteria Ecclesiae when their game mode needs them.

What you need to play KCD2 online

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on Steam, installed on a Windows PC. Steam must be running, because the launcher asks Steam where the game is installed.
  • A Kingdoms Connected release, from the Discord. It contains the launcher, the mod and the dedicated server.
  • A server to join: a public one from the in-game browser, a friend’s server, or one you host yourself.

How to play KCD2 multiplayer with friends

  1. Get the latest build

Join the Discord and download the current Kingdoms Connected release.

  2. Unpack it anywhere

Extract the archive to any folder, outside the game folder. Nothing is copied into KCD2 and no game file changes. Unpack it rather than copying files out, so the launcher can update itself.

  3. Start Steam, then the launcher

Run client\KCDCLauncher.exe. The game opens on the Kingdoms Connected multiplayer menu, where you pick the nickname other players will see.

  4. Pick a server

Choose a public server in the server browser, or use “Connect directly” with the host and port your friend gave you. The default game port is 27015.

  5. Ride out together

The game loads the server’s region and drops you into the shared world. Press T to chat; the server’s game mode decides the rest.

Can’t connect? The connection guide has a checklist: Steam running, matching mod versions, the right port, and any DLC the server requires.

Co-op, roleplay and PvP: what you can play

Kingdoms Connected is not a replay of the story campaign with a friend. It is server-based multiplayer: every server runs a game mode, and that game mode decides what players do together. A server can be a relaxed co-op world for a group of friends, a roleplay town with its own economy and laws, a tournament ground for duels, or something nobody has thought of yet.

Game modes are written in JavaScript or TypeScript against the Kingdoms Connected scripting API, in the same spirit as FiveM resources for GTA V. Every release ships with a default game mode, with commands like /horse, /world and /quest, as a starting point. See what server creators can build, or read the scripting documentation.

What to expect

Kingdoms Connected is playable today, and still changing quickly. Expect bugs, missing features and frequent updates. Keep your client and the server on the same version: the launcher updates itself, so the usual cause of trouble is a server left behind after an update. Report issues and share feedback on Discord; that is where the mod gets shaped.
